Are you neglecting your Inner Child?

Over the last few weeks I have become so aware of the worries and responsibilities that we are all carrying.

I’m hearing to it in every business owner, every woman, mum, and grandmother, every accountant, hairdresser, teacher, nurse and principal that walks through my doors.
It’s universal, we are burdened with responsibilities, trying to control the unknown and at the same time striving for perfectionism whilst feeling overwhelmed, worried and somewhat fearful and frustrated.
Some people are chronic with these emotions and others are having tsunami waves of them.

Home care advise over the last few weeks for the majority of my amazing clients is encouraging them to check in with their ‘inner child’.
It’s to learn to simply play again, to use their imagination, to be creative and to do it for themselves! Not with your kids but with you, for you!
So many of us are neglecting our ‘inner child’, we’ve forgotten to ‘play’ & to enjoy the magic within ourselves.

I watched ‘Hook’ for the first time last week in about twenty years. It was always a childhood favourite of mine.
It resonated massively with me now more than ever! If you haven’t seen it make it your business to watch it.
The story focuses on an adult Peter Pan who has forgotten all about his childhood.
In his new life, he is known as Peter Banning, a successful but unimaginative and workaholic lawyer with a wife and two children.
I refuse to tell you anymore because that takes away the beauty and simple lesson in the movie.

✨Just to remember we are all born plain and simple and a lot of the time we tend to complicate things. We take on too much, we try to do it all, we don’t ask for help, we don’t delegate- we don’t say ‘no’
We forget to play! We get caught in ruts, routines and OCD habits.
We are all just passing through on this beautiful disaster of a planet. Please know your self worth that you deserve to be happy, please know you deserve to feel fulfilled in your occupation, your friendships and relationships.
Remember to nurture that inner creative, magical, child that sees the world differently to an adult does.
Try it… ✨
